"We are not numbers": a charity concert at Massimo to rebuild Gaza's Al Awda hospital

Artists, doctors, journalists, and cultural operators come together to provide a special solidarity event dedicated to rebuilding the Al Awda Hospital, 'Awda Health & Community Association' in Gaza. With art and music, their goal is to tell the stories of those who are currently suffering and resisting with extraordinary strength and dignity in a context where basic civility and humanitarian values seem lost, and truth struggles to emerge.

Through various performances by artists from different musical genres - from classical to jazz, rock, and world music - they will give a voice to a community often reduced to faceless numbers without a history. The proceeds from the event will go entirely towards rebuilding the hospital, a crucial healthcare facility to provide care and assistance to the civilian population in Gaza.

The event, organized in collaboration with the Sardegna Palestina association, Teatro Massimo di Cagliari, EJA TV, Scenotecnica, and artistically directed by Francesca Corrias and Michele Palmas, will be a moment of sharing, art, and civil commitment.

The situation in Gaza has been labeled a genocide by important international institutions like Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch, and the International Court of Justice, recognizing the concrete risk of the extermination of the Palestinian population. Additionally, dozens of Israeli researchers and academics have publicly denounced the genocidal nature of the ongoing actions, conducting detailed analyses based on documented evidence and direct testimonies. However, this reality continues to be overlooked in international mainstream analysis. Every small gesture can make a difference.

On stage, there will be performances by Roundella, Elena Ledda, Mauro Palmas, Stefano D'Anna Quartet, Stefania Secci Rosa, Rossella Faa Trio, Peter Waters, Sa Ratapignata, Giacomo Serreli, and Elio Arthemalle.
