Tutankhamun: The Tomb, the Treasure, the Discovery

From February 28th to July 31st, 2026, the Covered Promenade of the Bastion of Saint Remy in Cagliari will host "Tutankhamon. The tomb, the treasure, the discovery", an exhibition featuring the only official replicas of the burial treasures of the "Golden Boy" pharaoh. Certificated by the Egyptian Ministry of Antiquities, these replicas provide a unique opportunity to get up close to the funerary mask, sarcophagi, chariots, protective statues, and personal objects of Tutankhamon.

The exhibit takes visitors on a journey through the thrilling discovery made by Howard Carter in 1922, with immersive installations and a virtual tour of the entire tomb. Sections are dedicated to mummification, the history of Tutankhamon's royal family, and the myths surrounding his tomb, including the famous "curse".

Sponsored by the Municipality of Cagliari and organized by Semata cooperative society, the initiative will also feature conferences and scientific meetings.

Designed for all audiences, including families, enthusiasts, and school groups, the exhibition offers educational materials and a children's section. The bookshop will offer a selection of themed objects and publications, some from Egypt.

The exhibition is education-oriented for self-guided exploration.
