Third appointment at the Lirico with "Primavera in musica": the orchestra is conducted by maestro Cristiano Del Monte

On Friday, April 4 at 7 pm and Saturday, April 5 at 7 pm, the third event of the new music series 'Spring in Music 2025' is scheduled, created and organized by the Teatro Lirico of Cagliari. The event will feature a performance by the Orchestra of the Teatro Lirico, conducted by Cristiano Del Monte (Loano, Savona, 1970), the musical director of the Cagliari Foundation.
The musical program includes performances of well-known pieces such as Beethoven's 'Coriolanus' Overture in C minor, op. 62, Mozart's Symphony in D major No. 35 K. 385 'Haffner,' and Beethoven's Seventh Symphony in A major, op. 92.
The new music series 'Spring in Music 2025' offers eight extraordinary evenings from February 28 to May 24 at 7 pm, featuring famous classical music, with a focus on the masterpieces of Mozart and Beethoven, up to the 20th century works of Kodály, Poulenc, and Chilcott, as well as the popular and religious atmospheres of traditional African-American spirituals.
There are also four scheduled performances for schools on Wednesday, April 2 and Thursday, April 3 at 11 am at the Teatro Carmen Melis, on Monday, April 7 at 11 am at the 'Ugo Foscolo' Middle School in Cagliari, and on Tuesday, April 8 at 11 am at the 'Vittorio Alfieri' Middle School in Cagliari.
CRISTIANO DEL MONTE
Cristiano Del Monte graduated in piano from the 'Niccolò Paganini' State Conservatory of Music in Genoa and in Choral Music and Choir Conducting from the 'Giuseppe Verdi' State Conservatory of Music in Turin. He then graduated with top honors in Modern Literature from the University of Genoa, with a thesis on Italian librettist literature. Following his university and musical studies, he began studying orchestral conducting and pursued an intense career as an accompanist pianist and substitute conductor, performing in various theaters in Italy and abroad. In 2001, he began a long-term collaboration as the stage musical director with the Teatro Lirico of Cagliari. Over the years, he has expanded his collaborations as a musical assistant with the Teatro Regio in Parma, the Teatro Real in Madrid, and as a chorus master with the Opéra de Monte-Carlo. For the Teatro Lirico of Cagliari, he has conducted performances like 'La Traviata' (in the 'Summer in Music' 2013 series), 'Turandot' by Busoni, 'L'ape musicale' by Da Ponte, and several symphonic choral programs.
