The Cultural Value for Cagliari's Community
Si muove la Città is not just a series of events: it is a project that brings art and culture into Cagliari's neighborhoods, involving citizens in diverse and participatory experiences. As Mayor Massimo Zedda stated: "We called this program Si muove la città, because it moves toward painting, toward performance, toward animating the neighborhoods".
The series recalls in spirit and diffusion the historic summer programs of Cagliari's summers from the 1980s, harkening back to that tradition of widespread and accessible culture. With over 3 months of free appointments, the festival confirms the Municipal Administration's willingness to invest in culture as a "common good," involving female and male citizens of all ages, visitors, and tourists.
The festival valorizes urban spaces through music, cinema, and sociality, making Cagliari's summer even more alive. From the comedy of Dario Vergassola and Sandro Cappai to the jazz of the Danilo Rea Trio, passing through the blues of the Francesco Piu Band, up to shows for children: it is a journey that valorizes urban heritage through art and participation.
