Pharos - Paulina Herrera Letelier's Exhibition at the Ethnographic Museum

From April 19th at 6pm, the Regional Ethnographic Museum Cocco Collection in Cagliari will host the exhibition Pharos by Paulina Herrera Letelier, the artist from Santiago, Chile, born in 1978. This event marks a new chapter in the Hanging-Suspended project, an exploration of the rich relationship between art, design, and craftsmanship in contemporary culture.

Following previous showcases by Ruben Montini, Herrera Letelier's carpets will engage in a new dialogue with the museum space, leading up to interventions by Annalisa Cocco and Nietta Condemi. The exhibition is curated by Efisio Carbone, Director of the ISRE Museum Pole.

The exhibition project titled Pharos is inspired by research on the Mediterranean coastal landscape, focusing on lighthouses and maritime lanterns as architectural and symbolic elements. The carpets, created in collaboration with the prestigious Mariantonia Urru laboratory in Samugheo, are intricate textile maps where design becomes rhythm, rhythm turns into light, and light tells a story. This exhibition is part of the Hanging-Suspended project, which showcases rugs and tapestries created by artisans, artists, and designers. Future exhibits will feature Annalisa Cocco and Nietta Condemi De Felice, who will fill the museum spaces with their textile creations until September 2025.

The exhibition setups are overseen by Architect Giovanni Filindeu with Smart Setups. The opening will include a culinary experience curated by chef Marina Ravarotto. Visit the official website for more information
