Pharos - Paulina Herrera Letelier's Exhibition at the Ethnographic Museum

From April 19th, at 6pm, the Regional Ethnographic Museum 'Collezione Cocco' in Cagliari will be hosting the Pharos exhibition by Paulina Herrera Letelier, the artist from Santiago, Chile, born in 1978. This exhibition marks a new chapter in the Hanging-Sospesi project, which explores the rich relationship between art, design, and craftsmanship in contemporary society from multiple perspectives.
Following the success of Ruben Montini's tapestries, Herrera Letelier's carpets will engage in a new dialogue with the museum space, leading up to the upcoming installations by Annalisa Cocco and Nietta Condemi. The exhibition is curated by Efisio Carbone, the Director of the ISRE Museum.
The Pharos exhibition is inspired by the coastal landscape of the Mediterranean, focusing on lighthouses and maritime lanterns as architectural and symbolic elements. The carpets, created in collaboration with the prestigious Mariantonia Urru workshop in Samugheo, are like textile maps where patterns become rhythm, rhythm becomes light, and light tells a story.
This exhibition is part of the Hanging-Sospesi project: 'Carpets and tapestries in the minds and hands of craftsmen, artists, and designers,' which involves a series of solo exhibitions featuring designers and artists collaborating with local textile artisans and cooperatives. Subsequent exhibitions will feature the works of Annalisa Cocco and Nietta Condemi De Felice, who will showcase their textile projects at the Ethnographic Museum 'Collezione Luigi Cocco' until September 2025. The exhibition setups are designed by Architect Giovanni Filindeu in collaboration with Smart Allestimenti. The opening will also include a delightful culinary experience curated by Chef Marina Ravarotto.
