On Wednesday, December 31st at 6 pm, don't miss the must-see New Year's Concert 2025 at the Teatro Lirico in Cagliari: an evening of great music that is part of a new and prestigious cultural project called Sardinia meets Qatar: the song of the two seas.
The goal is not only to offer a concert that enhances the cultural identity of Sardinia, but also to inaugurate a new season of cultural and institutional relations with Qatar, a strategic partner for future cooperation projects.
Sardinia meets Qatar: the song of the two seas, framed within the cultural enhancement and international promotion policies of the territory of the Cagliari Foundation, involves the joint participation of the Orchestra and Choir of the Teatro Lirico in Cagliari, directed by Giovanni Pasini from Cagliari who, now based in Qatar, is the first viola of the Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra and directs the country's main orchestral and choral ensembles, as well as internationally renowned Sardinian artists such as the violinist Anna Tifu from Cagliari and the saxophonist Gavino Murgia from Nuoro, along with musicians and soloists from Qatar, creating a unique context of intercultural dialogue between the Mediterranean and the Arabian-Persian Gulf.
The evening will feature established artists, soloists, and musicians such as Giovanni Pasini (conductor), Giovanni Andreoli (choir master), Dana Al Fardan (composer and singer), Anna Tifu (violin), Gavino Murgia (saxophone), Marcello Peghin (guitar), Daniele Russo (drums), Francesco Savoretti (percussion), Peppe Frana (oud), 'Fijiri' Percussion Ensemble from Qatar, Alice Marras (vocals), Maria Sciola (sound stones), Andrea Granitzio (sound stones and piano).
The musical program is evenly divided between the fascinating sounds of Sardinian tradition and the Arabic-infused atmospheres of Qatar.
After the concert, in the auditorium foyer, the audience is invited to toast the new year with all the artists.
