Mogwai will be in Sant&'Antioco for Sulky Rock 2026: their only date in Sardinia, featuring post-rock and international music.

International post-rock lands in Sardinia with an event destined to attract audiences from all over the island and beyond. On Tuesday, August 18, 2026, at the Phoenician Arena in Sant'Antioco, Mogwai will be the headliners of the first day of the third edition of Sulky Rock, the music festival that has established its international vocation over the years.

The Scottish band, formed in Glasgow in 1996, is considered one of the most influential formations in the global post-rock scene. With over thirty years of career, Mogwai has built a distinctive sound language characterized by long instrumental tracks, dynamic crescendos, and cinematic atmospheres, making them a reference point for contemporary alternative music. From their debut with "Young Team" to albums that marked their artistic evolution like "Come On Die Young," "Hardcore Will Never Die, But You Will," and "Mr Beast," the band has successfully combined experimentation and emotional impact. Their journey culminated in 2021 with a historic first place in the UK charts thanks to "As the Love Continues," a feat for an independent band.

ICONIC TRACKS

In the concert in Sardinia, Mogwai will present a selection spanning their entire career, including tracks from their latest album "The Bad Fire," released last year and produced by John Congleton. The album features singles like "Lion Rumpus," "God Gets You Back," and "Fanzine Made of Flesh."

Sulky Rock, conceived and organized by MIS Factory in collaboration with the Municipality of Sant'Antioco, confirms its growth as a reference festival for the rock scene on the island. Having hosted artists like Wolfmother, Franz Ferdinand, and The Molotovs in previous years, the event is back with a lineup that combines international bands and local talents, strengthening the bond between music and territory. The 2026 edition will take place on two dates, August 18 and 29, with the first night dedicated to Mogwai and additional guests to be announced in the coming weeks.
