The Civic Museums of Cagliari proudly present "Wanda Nazzari. Scores of Rust and Silk," a major exhibition celebrating more than half a century of artistic innovation by one of Sardinia’s most influential contemporary artists.

Opening at the Palazzo di Città from August 1 to November 8, 2026, this remarkable retrospective offers an in-depth look at Wanda Nazzari’s enduring impact on the cultural landscape of Sardinia. For over fifty years, Nazzari has held a pivotal role in Sardinian art, skillfully blending diverse styles and generational influences to transform raw materials into poetic expressions. Her artworks invite viewers into a space of reflection, memory, and knowledge.

Nazzari’s multifaceted talents extend beyond painting to include engraving, sculpture, performance, directing, and poetry. She is also a tireless cultural promoter who has played a key role in nurturing the island’s visual arts scene. Through her dynamic network of artistic and intellectual collaborations, she has helped establish Cagliari as a vibrant hub of contemporary experimentation.

Organized by the Department of Culture, Entertainment, and Tourism of the City of Cagliari, and curated by Mariolina Cosseddu, this exhibition is a significant institutional tribute to Wanda Nazzari.
