Feminas - Cagliari against violence

From counseling services to a march to raise awareness about gender violence. From self-defense courses to a literary solidarity festival.

These are just some of the activities included in the calendar of events of the municipal exhibition "Feminas. Cagliari against violence", the event that is renewed every year on the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, November 25th. It demonstrates the commitment of the Municipality of Cagliari to raise public awareness about the fight against gender discrimination, with particular attention to the phenomenon of violence against women.

The chosen title for this edition, "Women as Builders of Peace", is a reminder of the active role that women play daily in the construction and defense of the values of civil society and peace. They spread the culture of gender equality, respect, and the appreciation of differences as a tool for primary prevention of violence.

A rich calendar of events, the result of a selection that has rewarded ten proposals received by the Municipality so far, for an event that starts on November 20th and continues until June 15, 2026. It embraces celebrations on November 25th, March 8th, International Women's Day, and June 2, 2026, which marks the eightieth anniversary of the introduction of universal suffrage in Italy. It granted women parity on a legal and civil level.
