At the Temporary Storing in Via 29 Novembre 3/5 organized by the Bartoli Felter Foundation, the personal exhibition of photographer Alberto Masala Tellus will be inaugurated, curated by Alessandra Menesini.

The Curator writes:

The rice fields crisscrossed by an uncertain diagonal, the swaying crowns of orange trees and the compact ones of pine trees, the expanses of harvested or lush wheat. Graphic, and in many cases, painterly, Alberto Masala's photos isolate and magnify pieces of Sardinian land captured from above.

As a geologist, cartographer, and passionate ecologist, he flew the drone over areas he knows well. He knew where to find the plants that grow on the limestone, the plots divided with geometric precision, the olives and vines cultivated in the old and new ways.

It is the intense and varied greenery that ties together images created for the scientific purposes of the Sardinia Land Cover project. The photographer noticed that this rigorous census had a significant aesthetic value.

These arboreal landscapes could indeed be paintings. Balanced between fullness and emptiness, disciplined but ready to erase boundaries, to be shaped and changed by water, wind, and agricultural tools.

Tellus, a tribute to the earth.
