Cagliari pays homage to Marisa Sannia with a book and a show on stage at the Massimo

The evening hosted by the Teatro Massimo in Cagliari on Tuesday, May 27, starting at 7 pm, is dedicated to the unforgettable figure of Marisa Sannia. This event marks the release of the book 'Marisa Sannia, the voice of the wind and the sea,' written by Giacomo Serreli (Francesco Brioschi Editore) seventeen years after the artist's passing. Organized by the Marisa Sannia Cultural Association, the author, accompanied by music critic Mario Luzzato Fegiz in the foyer, will recount the story of this multifaceted artist. Following the book presentation, singer-songwriter Grazia Di Michele will take the stage at 8:30 pm with 'Poesie di carta,' a tribute to the early works of Federico Garcia Lorca, a beloved author of Sannia.
The book, 'Marisa Sannia, the voice of the wind and the sea,' written by Giacomo Serreli with a preface by Mario Luzzatto Fegiz, traces the artist's career from her debut in the sixties to her years away from show business. Marisa Sannia's story is not just a tale of success but primarily the story of a young island girl passionate about music and basketball who made it to the Sanremo stage. Versatile and eclectic, she excelled in various fields, from music to commercials and theater. Her creativity was showcased in the rediscovery of the Sardinian language in albums such as 'Melagranàda,' 'Nanas e Janas,' and 'Sa oghe de su entu e de su mare,' as well as in her passion for the Spanish language with the posthumous 'Rosa de papel,' inspired by Federico García Lorca's texts.
With the support of Marisa Sannia's family and longtime collaborators, Grazia Di Michele has created 'Poesie di Carta,' a concert that intertwines songs in Italian, Sardinian, and Spanish with reflections, photos, videos, and snippets of her theatrical scripts. Accompanied by musicians Marco Piras (piano), Fabrizio Fabiano (cello), Bruno Piccinnu (percussion), Fabiano Lelli (guitar), and Ermanno Dodaro (double bass), the concert has been performed in Rome, Milan, and various cities in Sardinia. It will have additional showings in Sardinia and other Italian cities throughout 2025. The Cagliari premiere on May 27 is a must-see tribute from one singer-songwriter to another, celebrating a special friendship.
