At Sa Manifattura, the show 'Anonimasequestri' is taking center stage, winner of the 2023 Scenario Award. A production by Teatro di Sardegna and Teatro Metastasio di Prato.

'Anonimasequestri' - Leonardo Tomasi (IT)

Between auditions for bandit-themed TV shows and tourist commercials, two thirty-year-old Sardinians try to make ends meet while searching for the right role for themselves. Inspired by a twisted sense of identity, armed with traditional Sardinian bread and beer, the two organize fake kidnappings, in homage to the former glory of their land. The cultural association transforms into successful delinquency, but what happens when the terrorist role starts to align with their true identity? On stage there is a table, a gang of criminals, some bags of chips, bottles of Ichnusa beer, and a heavy dose of Sardinian pride. A mix of documentary theater, village festival, and 1970s police film, the bandits rehearse lines, study maps, plan the next fake kidnapping, with the help of a complicit and captive audience. 'Anonimasequestri' is a plea for identity redemption; it is a kidnapping where everyone is both kidnapped and kidnapper; it is a declaration of intentions in the hope that someone will come. To either arrest us, take a mugshot, or finally call us by name.
