From October 1 to 6, 2024, the children’s literature festival “Tuttestorie” returns to Cagliari, while also making stops in numerous towns across the island, for its 19th edition.
The festival is aimed at an audience from 0 to 16 years old, with special sessions for adults, and over time has broadened its scope to include books, art, theater, dance, cinema, and new technologies. The 2024 “mother dough”—the conceptual map that serves as the event’s guiding theme, as per tradition—is “The End,” or rather “Endings,” followed by “In-Betweens” and “New Beginnings.” The title of the edition is “And Now? Stories, Visions, and Books About Things That End.”
A total of 370 events are planned, including meetings, workshops, performances, games, exhibitions, interactive installations, videos, and participatory projects featuring 71 guests: authors, illustrators, artists, and experts in children’s literature. Of these, 260 activities are dedicated to schoolchildren from across the island, while 110 are open to the public. The festival’s “headquarters” is the EXMA arts and culture center, where most public events in the capital take place. Starting on Tuesday, October 1, the festival kicks off school sessions in the towns of Assemini, Carbonia, Decimomannu, Decimoputzu, Elmas, Gonnesa, Iglesias, Isili, Monastir, Quartu Sant’Elena, Sanluri, Selargius, Siliqua, Vallermosa, Villanovaforru, Villasor, and Villaspeciosa.
The event is organized by the Tuttestorie children’s bookstore and cooperative, under the artistic direction of Manuela Fiori, with the collaboration of Bruno Tognolini. For more information and to view the full program and guest list, visit tuttestorie.it.
