Cagliari City Choral Festival 2025 - My language is music

The Collegium Karalitanum Choir, with the support of the Municipality of Cagliari, is organizing the new edition of the Città di Cagliari Choral Festival. An event for many enthusiasts, enriching the musical and cultural scene of Sardinia year after year.

With a strongly identitarian character, the 2025 edition of the Festival is titled 'Sa limba mea est musica,' a journey that aims to celebrate the Sardinian language and music as a living heritage, a bridge between tradition and modernity.

All concerts of the Città di Cagliari Choral Festival will focus on the enhancement of words and songs in the language of the Island, a language that becomes music and shared identity. The Collegium Karalitanum Choir will consistently be present, engaging with popular music formations. An original and evocative blend capable of offering the audience unique musical dialogues, blending polyphony, tradition, and experimentation.

It all begins on Sunday, September 28, 2025. At 7:30 pm, in the church of Sant'Eulalia, the Tenores di Bitti Remunnu 'e Locu, ambassadors of the world of tenor singing and UNESCO's intangible cultural heritage, will perform.

Following that will be the 'Ninna nanna campidanese' by Sardinian composer Franco Oppo, inventor of the prestigious 'Spaziomusica Festival' of the Collegium Karalitanum Choir directed by Giorgio Sanna.

The Festival will then unfold:

- On Saturday, October 11, in the church of Madonna del Suffragio, at Cep, the Villa Ecclesiae Choir will perform the Songs of the Mines.
- On Saturday, November 29, in the church of San Giuseppe, in the Santa Teresa neighborhood, the international Choir Serpeddì will perform Campidanese songs.
- On Saturday, December 20, also in the church of San Giuseppe, it will be the turn of the group Cuncordia a Launeddas, ambassadors worldwide of the oldest musical instrument in Sardinia.
